Mt Ngungun is not the tallest or most challenging of the Glasshouse Mountains climbs, but Mount Ngungun is certainly one of the most rewarding. The climb to the summit is a 1.1km track offering many visual highlights, capped off by the interrupted 360 degree views of the surrounding landscapes. Not far from Maleny up in the Hinterland, Gardner’s Falls is a wonderful place for people of all ages to freshen up, relax swim or just soak their feet in the cool stream. It’s just a short walk from the car park down to a series of falls and rock pools that are popular for swimming, picnicking and diving into the falls. There is even a rope swing that daredevils may want to try, but it’s best to check the depth first as water levels can vary.
